Kendall Jenner was at the 2015 Tony Awards on Sunday, June 7 and her presence caused an 'unwanted' uproar on social media with many questioning why was she there.. a place for Broadway stars and theater professionals? Well, here's why.

According to E! News, Kendall was one of the many models invited at the award show and the Vogue Editor-in-Chief, Anna Wintour personally hand-picked her to attend!

A source tells the site,"Kendall loves theatre and loves New York. As a result, she was more than honored to travel to Radio City Music Hall and watch the awards show inside.''

The 20-year-old no doubt turned heads on the red carpet with her custom Calvin Klein Collection dress by the brand's creative director, Francisco Costa and she completed her look with hair by Tarek Makki, makeup from Gina Brooks and shoes by Calvin Klein.

Other models who showed up at the prestigious event included: Bella Hadid, Ashley Greene and Joan Smalls

As for what's next on Kendall's plate; "Looking forward to visiting beautiful Antalya, Turkey next week," she shared on Twitter over the weekend. "Excited to be walking the Dosso Dossi fashion show."
