Pop star's basketball shoes fetch above $62,000 at charity auction

Millions of fans reportedly scramble for the Biebs' personal items in an eBay aution to raise funds for a food bank in Ontario.

When you are as popular as Justin Bieber, there's no reason why millions of fans wouldn't want anything you wear.

That's why the 'Baby' singer's pair of Nike basketball shoes has reportedly raked in more than $62,000 in a recent eBay auction.

The charity auction which began on January 31 and closed at noon on Saturday February 7, was set up to benefit a food bank in Bieber's hometown of Straford, Ontario in Canada.

Some of the pop star's personal items were donated by his grandparents, Diane and Bruce Dale, to help raise funds food the Straford House of Blessing food bank.

Other Bieber items that brought in some money include his Toronto Maple Leafs comforter which fetched more than $6,000. His ceiling light got $2,000 while his pillow case went for above $3,000.

According to the charity's official website, Bieber and his mother chose to donate the items, "because they were helped by us in their time of need."

Organizers also claim the singer autographed the items when he was in the area over the holidays, and each came with a certificate of authenticity signed by his grandmother.
