Following Pulse's report on a rising music act, John Inas, onetime winner of MTN Project Fame, Monica Ogah has insisted the singer was wrongly accused of robbery and murder charges.

In a fresh response to our inquiry, Ogah urged the Nigerian Police to wade into Inas' case saying a critically and proper investigation be carried out.

"I Monica Ogah is requesting the police to investigate this carefully so we don't accuse or persecute an innocent boy for no just cost," she said in an appeal to the Nigerian Police.

Speaking further she said, " I was going  through  my facebook page yesterday when I heard the boy's story. His name is John Inalegwu, so I decided  to do more findings and everyone seems to have same story about what really happened.

"I spoke to his producer this morning to explain to me more and he said, John Inalegwu was truly coming back from his music video shoot which lasted till about 10pm the night of the arrest which was 1st of June.

"During his video  shoot he used customs such as cloths and mask which were found on him,truly makurdi has been hot this few weeks following cult clash/killings that's been going on and a curfew was declared for 9pm and he was on his way home for 10pm then he got arrested.

"After he was taken to the station, his belongings were taken from him, his bag, phone etc which is a normal procedure, so his producer went to the station to explain and show them evidence of the video and the policeman said he wasn't interested but later asked the producer to go look for 50k to bail John Inalegwu.

"The producer could raise only 20k and John was released and was given his belongings except his phone, he was asked  to come back the next day as the police officer  with  his phone is not in. So he came for his phone the next day and the police man told him not to bother him, his producer said John was begging and the the police man told him the he should sit and wait. John Inalegwu waited for 4hrs  only for the police man to rearrest him on a new charge of homicide, armed robbery and conspiracy. John Inalegwu aalongside 2 other boys, who were arrested a night before were taken to the state police headquarters (CID Department ) and has been charged to court," she explained

Inas' profile on Facebook revealed that he studied Zoology at the University of Agriculture, Makurdi and lives in Makurdi North, Benue State.

He is also a rising music act plying his trade in Benue with songs that include Mama Yeh and Benue Stars Remix to his credit.
