In a Twitter post titled 'A Message From Janet', shared early April 6, Jackson explained to her fans that she has to do this now and she's very sorry not only to all those who bought tickets to her concerts but also to her entire band and dancers for halting the project.

Jackson has been slapped with rumors of battling with cancer in the past, a stroy she called "untrue". The singer addressed the unfounded rumor on December 6, issuing a statement via a video on Twitter that read, "The rumors are untrue. I do not have cancer. I am recovering."
