The last time Ice Prince dominated the news was in January 2016 when his girlfriend undefined. That was four months ago and it seems that Ice Prince just can’t be found in the mix of things.

Musically Ice Prince’s last single ‘No Mind Dem’ was released in February, 2016. With a couple of cameos here and there Ice Prince has been largely missing. Also nothing has been said about him outside of music. Has one of Nigeria’s biggest artistes just disappeared?

Well Ice Prince hasn’t disappeared. If you go to his Instagram account you will see lots of photos of him in the studio working on his next album. His third album ‘’ will be Ice Prince’s biggest album yet and he will need to prove to many especially his international connections that he can deliver.

Ice Prince has had his fair share of critics over the years so this might be the album he would want to shut his critics up. Also with the international market biased towards the Nigerian sound for now, this is also Ice Prince’s biggest chance to take advantage of the Naija trend.

These are the reasons why he is burning the midnight candle in the studio to come out with a great body of work.

Beyond the music though, Ice Prince’s celebrity status is beginning to wane just a bit. Regarded as the cool, fly and fresh rapper Ice Prince is sort of missing in the current narrative of Nigerian pop culture.

It is probably high time that Ice Prince adds a few new tricks to his game. There comes a time when a celebrity has to reinvent himself and add something new to the mix. I think Ice Prince needs it. The game is shifting and a new wave of music, pop culture and arts is on the way. Ice Prince needs to add more spice to his game so that he can remain relevant within the next few years.

Music wise Ice Prince is plotting for the biggest album of his career. The question is where is Ice Prince now and where will he be in the culture over the next few years? With a different approach to his game he will be here for a while.
