Actress reveals she regrets splitting with Chris Martin

The actress in a recent interview reveals that she sometimes think that things would have turned out better if she had not separated from her estranged husband, Chris Martin.

American actress, Gwyneth Paltrow, has revealed that she sometimes regrets splitting with her estranged husband, Chris Martin, because of her children.

The couple in March 2014 announced that they have separated after ten years of marriage, describing the process as "conscious uncoupling". In a new interview with Harper’s Bazaar Magazine, the Iron Man actress says that she sometimes think it would have been better if she had remained with the Cold Play lead singer.

"Of course, there are times when I think it would have been better if we had stayed married, which is always what your children want. But we have been able to solidify this friendship, so that we're really close," she said in the January issue of the magazine.

"It's painful, it's difficult, it might be easier to say, I never want to see you again," but what good does that do anyone? We've made a lot of mistakes, and we've had good days and bad days, but I have to say, I'm proud of us for working through so much stuff together – and not blaming and shaming," Paltrow, says about the split as she covers the January 2015 issue of the magazine.

Paltrow describes her separation with Martin as "always a moving, amorphous thing," but a relationship that ultimately happened "very fast." The two met soon after Paltrow's famous dad, producer-director Bruce Paltrow, died at 58 in October 2002. Martin supported Paltrow through the difficult time, which won her heart..

"I feel like I would have died somehow if I hadn't met him at that time. I felt like I was going to die of grief. I remember waking up, on one particular night, where I felt like I was having a heart attack and I couldn't breathe. I lay on the floor of my apartment in London and I thought, 'I'm not going to survive this.' And he just picked me up and he was so loving and patient through all my grieving. He's really great in a crisis. He has incredible empathy when it comes to somebody's pain," the actress says about her estranged husband, Chris Martin.

She is reportedly dating Glee co-creator, Brad Falchuk, while Chris Martin has been in an on/off relationship with actress, Jennifer Lawrence.
