Brother eulogises late comedian 12 years after death

'Though I knew the time was up, I braced up to keep saying it was well...' were some of the words of the late Gbenga Adeboye's brother, Femi Adeboye as he eulogised his late brother.

Femi Adeboye went emotional on Thursday, April 30, 2015 as he took to his Facebook to reminisce and eulogise his late brother and ace comedian, Gbenga Abefe Adeboye.

12 years after the shocking death of the popular Yoruba radio personality, his brother remembers his brother with emotional description of his last meeting with the star.

In the words of Femi, “At exactly 4pm, 12 years ago, I left you helplessly on your sick bed at St Nicholas hospital to attend to an issue in Ibadan. Though I knew the time was up, I braced up to keep saying it was well. Before I left, I recalled that I said to your almost dead body that “if we meet again, we shall be glad. If not, God has made our NEXT meeting impossible. The following day, very early in the morning, the news that it was not well, which I kept at the back of my mind, was finally let loose."

Continuing, he said, 'I left Ibadan without believing that you had given in to death. But on getting to the mortuary, it dawned on me that it was not well. Looking at you in a crate where you were deposited, something came to my mind that some time ago, you were like us, living together as ONE.

'And even if we live as though we are never going to die, one day ,we would be like you: living together again where we shall part no more. Brother, keep resting on in the bosom of the Almighty till the appointed day when we shall meet again and part no more,' he wrote.
