Actors rooting for Agbaje turn to Ambode

Top Nollywood actors, who campaigned for the defeated PDP candidate at the Lagos State governorship elections, Jimi Agbaje, under the name , 4NewLagos (4NL), have decided to pitch their tent with the Lagos State governor-elect, Akinwunmi Ambode.

Members of 4NL group

Led by Femi Branch, Alex Okoroji, Femi Brainard, Ronke Odusanya aka Flakky Ididowo, Grace Amah, Ruggedman,John Njamah and Kalu Ikeagwu, the screens alongside other celebrities announced their decision to meet with the governor-elect and work with him.

In a press statement signed by Femi Branch, the 4NL team stressed that though their preferred candidate didn't win at the polls, they believe it shouldn't kill their expectations for a Lagos that works for every strata of its citizenry.

"#4NL is presently working on presenting its working plans for A New Lagos to the new government of Lagos State. Though our prefered candidate Mr Jimi Agbaje lost at the polls, we believe this should not kill his or our expectations for a Lagos that works for every strata of its citizenry," the statement reads.

Continuing, the statement reads, 'As a social pressure group, we believe our new Governor Mr Akinwunmi Ambode is also a progressive and we are ready and willing to work with him, if he will so permit us, to build the Lagos of our dreams. We believe that Mr Agbaje fought a good and noble fight. He played politics in a way many of us never thought possible in this Nation. For that we commend him and say we are proud to have been his partners on this journey.

'It's so sad he never got to actualize his noble plans for Lagos. A man like Jimi is rare indeed and comes only once in every generation, so it is our hope that he will still be afforded an opportunity to serve this Nation in whatever capacity so as to be able to display the expertise and intelligence that many whose eyes were clouded by sentiment and blind devotion can see just how much they underrated him,' the statement reads.
