Hollywood actor and wrestler, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has announced via Instagram that he will be appearing at the 32 edition of the WWE Championship, Wrestlemania 32.

He announced it on the social networking site yesterday in a post featuring a video of him in the ring with the caption,

“IT'S OFFICIAL: People's Champ is coming home to do 3 things with THE PEOPLE: Set an ALL-TIME attendance record, ELECTRIFY Dallas like never before & make all time #WRESTLEMANIA history. And we have FUN. Ok that's four things but you know what the hell The Rock's sayin'... THANK YOU #WWEUniverse ! It's always an honor coming home and I wouldn't miss it for the world. #PeoplesChamp4L #MakingElectrifyingHistory #SmackethLaidDownOnThyCandyAsses”

Although it is not clear if he will be fighting in the match, it is important to note that The Rock has appeared in each of the last two Wrestlemania championships mainly in a non-fighting capacity after losing his title to John Cena in Wrestlemania 29.

The actor/wrestler who recently welcomed newborn baby girl, Jasmine a few weeks ago, has previously spoken openly about combining wrestling with his new career as an actor.

The star had noted that he was not willing to give up acting any time soon but neither was he interested in letting wrestling go either as his career had begun in the ring.

The Rock had only recently gifted a WWE veteran he had known from the start of his wrestling days with a new truck for Christmas.

The Rock has held the WWE Championship belt eight times, the Intercontinental Championship twice and won the Royal Rumble in 2000. Outside of WWE however, he has appeared in movies such as Furious 7, San Andreas and G.I. Joe: Retaliation.
