Donald Trump slammed Mexicans on June 25 accising them of all the crimes in the USA then promised to build a 'great wall' at the American-Mexican border.
Peurto Rican actress, Roselyn Sanchez has announced she is stepping down as Miss USA co-host after Donald Trump's racist remarks about Mexican. The Latin beauty took to Facebook to express her inconvenience to Trump's speech on Thursday, June 25.
Before we go on, here's what Trump said about Mexico, Mexicans and Mexican-Americans in his first presidential announcement on June 25: ''[Mexico is] sending people that have lots of problems, and they are bringing those problems to us... And some, I assume, are good people." They are bringing drugs, and bringing crime, and their rapists.'' Adding that he'sll build a great wall at the American-Mexican border to prevent their entrance into the USA.
The 'Devious Maids' star wrote her post in Spanish which is [loosely] translated to, "As a Latina, I'm very proud of my roots, culture and everything that we have contributed to this nation, I have decided to cancel my participation as co-host in the miss USA pageant. I cannot tolerate the disrespectful and hurtful words that came out of the mouth of Mr. Trump."
"It seems unbelievable that in his speech to announce his candidacy, has had that span of intelligence and decency. Mexicans, like Latinos, contribute positively to this great nation. We are the strength that keeps this country afloat," she continued.
Adding that: "I was very excited and grateful for the opportunity to serve as co-host of this great event in which many Latinas have shone, but I have more loyalty to my people. Enough with racism and 'influential' people underestimating us."
In conclusion, the 42-year-old singer-songwriter thanked the TV network for cutting ties with any Trump-related stuff. "Thanks Univision for having me and for honoring your audience and cutting relationship with everything that has to do with Trump.''
Do you think it's right for Sanchez to quit?
