Singer rushed to hospital

The 'Skyscraper' hitmaker is said to have been prescribed medication by a doctor after she was found to have a 'flu-related' lung infection.

Demi Levato has been taken to hospital after experiencing breathing difficulties.

The 'X Factor' judge is reported to have suffered significant trouble breathing before she was rushed to the Providence Tarzana Medical Centre in California on Tuesday, February 24.

A doctor at the hospital say she was found to have a flu-related lung infection and have been prescribed medication including an antibiotic known as Z-Pak.

She was taken to the medical facility by a friend.

According to TMZ, Levato was still in the hospital as of yesterday and she was forced to cancel a recording session for her new album with a yet-to-mentioned 'big producer'.

The 'Skyscraper' hit-maker was last seen in public last week when she attended the Unite4:Humanity gala in Beverly Hills.Levato has once suffered serious depression due to drug overdose which landed her in rehab in 2011.

It's still not known if she's been discharged from hospital.
