In an appreciation to everyone who sympathised with him on her passing, he once wrote, "THANK YOU! I wanna use this opportunity to say thank you to everyone who reached out to me and my family on the sudden passing of my gift, my rock, my backbone, my pride, my teacher; my dear mother!"
He recently made a post which is a throw-back of his late mother and himself back in 1984.

When he lost his mother in January, notable Stand-Up comedian and friend, Basketmouth was among the first set of celebrities to console him.
He sent this kind hearted message to Bovi, "It takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate them, and a day to love them, but it takes an entire lifetime to forget them. @officialbovi your mum is in a better place. Stay strong. I love you bro."

He participated in Nite of 1000 Laughs organized by Opa Williams, a project that had him working alongside other Nigerian comedians such as I Go Dye, I Go Save, Basketmouth, Buchi, Odogwu, Okey Bakassi, Julius Agwu and others.
