As far as the US media is concerned, his only crime was belting the Billboard smash at the top of his lungs!
As we earlier reported, Beyonce's widley watched Super Bowl Halftime performance in February was greeted with wid-spread criticism from some Americans who accused the singer of promoting racism and damaging the image of the police. The Miami police Department went as far as pledging to boycott the singer's concert in April.
However, in her interview with Elle Magazine (May Issue), the 34-year-old diva insisted she is against police brutality, not officers in general.
"I'm proud of what we created and I'm proud to be a part of a conversation that is pushing things forward in a positive way," she told the mag.
Not too surprised by the reaction, Beyonce added: "I mean, I'm an artist, and I think the most powerful art is usually misunderstood."
