Alex Ekubo says entertainers going into politics is an incredible gesture.

''It's amazing that entertainers would want to branch out of their comfort zones and do something challenging,'' the Nollywood star tells Pulse TV in Lagos. ''If you feel bad about a situation, try to change it instead of complaining about it,'' he added.

Alex also mentions that fact that celebrities shouldn't just get into politics without a background knowledge of the subject and must have experience over the years, to enable them understand the system.

''I do appreciate people like Desmond Elliot who go into politics and I think people like him should encouraged,'' the actor said.

''I'd rather go for someone who has a track record of consistency; whom I've watched for the past 5, 10, 15, 20 years and see what he's done as oppose to someone who comes from no where asking for my vote,'' Alex confessed.

At the end of it all, the actor says there's no way ''we can solve a problem when we are not part of the system''.
