Nigeria's apex bank, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has given student entrepreneurship a boost with a promise Students for the Advancement of Global Entrepreneurship (SAGE) Nigeria initiative.

Nigeria has a high unemployment and the CBN's partnership with SAGE can go a long way to help effect some positive change
CBN's Director of Development Finance Department, Mr Paul Eluhaiwe made the promise at the 2014 FCT SAGE Exhibition /Awards competition held in Abuja.
He said the SAGE initiative will help tackle unemployment in Nigeria.
"We believed that our youth enterprise will reduce the unemployment rate which is currently estimated to stand at about 23 per cent among adults in Nigeria," Eluhaiwe said.
Eluhiawe underlined the need for such programs if the nation must build a new generation of entrepreneurs.
"We need a strategy that will accommodate more effective synergies between education and the economy in order to provide future generations with the necessary skills and talents.
Tagged 'Teen Biz Fair', the 2014 FCT SAGE Exhibition /Awards featured teenage entrepreneurial skills, innovation and community service projects.
SAGE Nigeria President, Agwu Amogwu, said the winner at the local level will represent his or her state at the 2014 SAGE National Exhibition and Award slated for June 4 - June 7 in Lagos where winners will emerge for the 2014 SAGE World Cup which will feature over 20 countries, including U.S., Canada, China, Ghana and others.
He added that the 2014 SAGE World Cup will be hosted by Russia between August 8 and August 15, 2014.
