The management disclosed that some unknown persons have been making money off the desperation of fresh candidates for the new session who have yet to discover their status months after the release of the Universities Matriculation Examination which was conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB.

In a statement released on Monday, September 12, the institution said:

“It has come to the notice of the university authorities that a text message is being sent to prospective students by unknown persons notifying them that they have been given admission to the University of Lagos.

“This is a scam. The message did not emanate from the University of Lagos.

“Members of the public are advised to ignore this message as the University of Lagos does not send text messages to admitted candidates and it does not require anyone to call any number.

“The University website is the only authentic source of information on admissions.”

Candidates are advised to check the university's website for all information pertaining to admissions and more.
