Senate committee commends female students

In the meeting, the President, Miss Idongesit Micah commended the dexterous and diligent show of commitment of the female Senators in the Senate

The meeting was attended by such dignitaries as Senator Oluremi Tinubu, Chairman, Senate Committee on Women Affairs, Senator Binta Masi Garba, a member of that Committee and Chairman, Senate Committee on Tertiary Institutions and TETFUND, Senator Stella Oduah, Vice Chairman, Senate Committee on Women Affairs.

In the meeting, the President, Miss Idongesit Micah commended the dexterous and diligent show of commitment of the female Senators in the Senate. She said that the visit has afforded the opportunity to create awareness of our Anti Sexual Harassment Campaign and commended them for co-sponsoring the Bill against sexual harassment in tertiary institutions which have pass through second reading in the Senate.

The President went further to say that, a lot of female students have dropped out of school, some end up with low grades, some fail respective courses intentionally by lecturers and so on, hence she solicited their contacts for other passionate, intellectual and influential women to support the Bill to become law.

In response, the wife of the APC National Leader and Chairman, Senate Committee on Women Affairs, Senator Oluremi Tinubu thanked the female students for the visit, she urge their President to receive petitions from victims of sexual harassment in tertiary institutions and submit it to the Committee.

Others who spoke were, Senator Stella Oduah who charged the Association to be committed and united in the cause of their advocacy. For Senator Binta Garba, she told the group that "the have sown a seed by embarking on this campaign, that the should keep watering it, one day it will germinate and the seed will come out prosperous
