FCT Minister donates N50M Engineering centre to Igbinedion University

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Senator Bala Mohammed, has donated a N50 million worth Engineering and Design Center to the Faculty of Engineering of the Igbinedion University, Okada, Edo State.

Senator Bala revealed this while speaking at the 12th convocation ceremony of the institution where he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Governance (D.Gov.).

"I have lived my professional life as a graduate of English language, journalist, civil servant, bureaucrat, and politician, Senator of the Federal Republic and today the Minister of the FCT," he said.

"None of these has had a more profound impact on my life as the privilege to supervise the building of our nation's capital as one of the largest centres of infrastructure investment and real sector development in the world today."

The Senator also revealed that his friends and family members contributed half of the sum for while the FCT administration completed the sum.

Bala added that the project would be supervised by the the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) to ensure that it is executed to standard.

He however urged the institution to invest more in research and development in order to help take Nigeria to the next level.
