We all have one or two favourite teachers who showed us the path to take in life. That teacher who used to correct and guide us to ensure we achieve our dreams.

Today, October 5, 2017, is another day to remember those heroes we passed through in our formative years and Pulse staff have a lot of good things to say about their primary and secondary school teachers.

This is how they describe their favourite teachers in primary and secondary school.

Fu'ad- I used to dream about my favourite teacher, Aunty Remi

I have a lot of favourite teachers. My favourite primary school teacher was Mrs Eket Anobili. I think she came from Akwa Ibom state. My best teacher in primary 2 was Mrs. Etuk, I think she came from Akwa Ibom too. She was just but the best of them all is My Nursery 3 teacher, Aunty Remi at Mount Camel Nursery School, I used to dream of her.

I have so many good teachers. My primary three teacher is Mrs Anobili. She is the most impressionable teacher ever. She was the one that made us stop calling teachers Aunty, we called her Mrs. Anobili and she would ask us, am I your father's sister? all of us would shout Nooooooo! What is my name ? Mrs Anobiliiiiii !

In primary it was Mr Ajiboye. I don't know why that man believed in me so much. He made me class captain but I was actually a president.

Then Primary six, Mrs, she is probably the most passionate teacher. When she was leaving we were crying like nuisances. So from primary school to secondary school, I have a lot of amazing teachers.

Oreva- He was like a comedian

My favourite teacher was a Further maths teacher this is not because I enjoy further maths, as a matter of fact, I know nothing about that subject but the teacher was more like a  comedian. We always looked forward to his class. So for me, he is the best because he enforced discipline with fun.

Inem- My favourite teachers left an impression

Mr Abunbakar was my home lesson teacher, he taught me and prepared me for Common Entrance.  After him,  I have Mr Bature who taught us Maths and Mr Adeyemo. He taught us English at primary four. These teachers left an impression. In secondary school, my favourite teacher was Mrs Edet, she was my Agric teacher and my house mistress.

Abiola- He was nice and cool, neither strict nor lenient

Mr Kayode my English teacher at Ronik International school in Ejigbo is my favourite. There are many others but that is the one I can recall now.

In secondary school, Mr. Ajao Adebayo, my Agric teacher was my favourite. He was nice and cool. These teachers were not too strict neither were they too lenient. They were balanced.

Gboyinwa- She was pretty and motherly

My favourite teacher is actually Miss Oludare. I never know her first name. She is my best teacher for a number of reasons. She taught my best subject, which is English, she made it easy to learn unlike Biology and Mathematics that you have to stare at the board to look at the magic the teachers are performing. She was like a mother to everybody and she was pretty.

Nurudeen- She was a caring old woman

Her name is Mrs Adelabu, she taught me in primary 6 at Mainland Model Primary school. She was an old woman, who was very caring. She treated the pupils like her children. I used to sit very close to her desk because I was one of her favourite students. And perhaps because I was sitting very close to her, I could help her do some other things.

She used glasses an whenever she didn't come to school with her glasses, she won't be able to read, so she would ask me to write the text on the board. She was very nice and she rarely flogs her students. She has her way of enforcing discipline though, she has this motherly approach to correcting us. She would talk to us and made us see reasons why we should do things in a certain way. Not that she didn't beat us but her approach is not to threaten or scare us.

Samson- He tried to fashion a career path for me

Mr Bamgboye in secondary school SSS1-3 was my English Literature teacher. He took a  special interest in me and tried to take a path for me. He actually tried to fashion a career path for all of us, I didn't actually agree with his choice of career but I appreciate the effort.

Ayomide - He is the only teacher who stands out in my entire academic history

He made us understand English very well. He wasn't that kind of wished teachers that flogged always, but he was strict and he would make you enjoy the subject very well. From Comprehension to Composition, he made all that very easy to understand. Funny enough he didn't have Ghanaians accent. To me, That is the teacher that has stood out the most in my entire academic history.

Odion- He reminds me of my father.

My favourite primary school teacher was Mr Onwuke. he was the class teacher and was also the class teacher. He was a very nice person, very strict, He just kind of remind me of my father. He was really cool guy He has very intelligent students and they've all become doctors. I don't know if he is still alive because he was really old as that time.

For secondary school, I was in Sciences but I had this Economics teacher. He was a young guy, I just like him because whenever he was teaching he use to make the class lively. Everything was like fun for him. I wasn't doing economics but I just liked to be in his class to watch him teaching. He was cool.

We used to call him Mr. Esin (Horse) We also called him Osama because he was a good athlete. He runs well. He is very sociable even with other teachers and students. He made Geography class very exciting.

Princess- She was just lovely

My favourite teacher was my primary three teacher at Corona VI, her name is Mrs Latunde Dada. She was just lovely. She is a Nigerian but came across as very English and she loved all her students. She knew their weaknesses and their strength.

She always tried to push her students to do more or try new things and brings out the creative side of you, She is very dedicated.

Tolani - She was so commanding and full of life

I like Aunty Gloria, she was my Composition teacher and she introduced me to my first books. We used to write composition like My Dog, How I spent my last Holiday and my favourite place in my house.

My best teacher in the secondary was my literature teacher, She was so commanding and full of life. She exposed a lot. Literature wasn't hardcore for me in secondary school because I had a very good teacher.

Ahmed- He gave me moral support

My favourite teacher was Mr Abdul Jeleel, He used to take Economics. Then I was so good in Economics that anytime he came to class he would be like Omo Mola, I want you to sit at the front because I loved to sit at the back. After his classes, I used to ask questions because I had that zeal to learn. And anytime he is teaching, he wants me to concentrate and expect the best from me when he conducts a test. He supported me morally and even advised me on the courses to go for in University.
