Okonofua said the management will ensure that fees charged are not exorbitant in line with the state's affordable education policy.

"Though we have not fixed any amount to be paid as tuition fees, I am assuring the people that our fees will be affordable," Okonofua said.

"We all know that the Ondo State University pays the least tuition fees in Nigeria.

"So this will not be different."

The Vice Chancellor said the institution would revive the state of medical education in Nigeria.

Established by incumbent Ondo State Governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, the University was approved by the National Universities Commission (NUC) in April 2015.

It became the 139th university in Nigeria and the 40th state-owned university.
