The managing director of Nigerian Breweries, Mr. Nicolas Vervelde has assured Nigerians that the company is dedicated to take active part in funding of educational and research institutions in Nigeria.

Mr. Nicolas Vervelde has assured Nigerians that the company is dedicated to take active part in funding of educational and research institutions in Nigeria.
Vervelde made this known when speaking at the official commissioning of re-constructed Dedeke Memorial Girls Primary School, Surulere building.
"The Nigerian Breweries-Felix Ohiwerei Education Trust Fund established in 1994 will take a more active part in funding of educational and research institutions in Nigeria,” he said.
He added that over 250 classrooms have been constructed and furnished, adding that 250 sanitary facilities and 26 libraries in 30 communities across the country have also been bought and constructed.
He also reminded those present that the Fund made a sponsorship donation of one million dollars to the Pan-Atlantic University, PAU for the construction of the university’s Faculty of Engineering and Technology Complex at its Ibeju Lekki Campus.
“Over 2000 students had received career counseling, sponsorship of the national reading competition between 2004 and 2010,” he said.
While commissioning the building he said: “We are proud to deliver to you today an infrastructure that does not only provide a conducive environment for learning, but can compete among the best infrastructure in public schools in Lagos State.”
Other schools renovated in the Surulere area include, Obele Primary School, Adisa Bashua Primary School, Akinsemoyin Primary School, Itolo Girls Senior Secondary School and Lagos Progressive College.
