OAU students stage hilarious costumed dance in mock Independence Anniversary
While President Muhammadu Buhari and his Vice, Yemi Osinbajo, played host to dignitaries at a low budget ceremony at the Aso Villa, other Nigerians celebrated the Anniversary in their states, and the students of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, were not left out.
In what could be best described as a dramatized mock-ceremony, the students filed out in white and green apparel and put up a comical dance.
Looking more like members of the Cherubim and Seraphim movement in their white gowns and green waist sashes, they had their own towering and stern-looking President Buhari and his smaller bodied 2nd in command.
It was hilarious.
This is not the first time students of the institution will hold a mock version of serious events.
In August, the students held a mock Oro ceremony following the demise of the fiftieth traditional ruler of the ancient city, Alayeluwa Oba Okunade Sijuwade.
