LAUTECH holds matriculation ceremony for fresh students

LAUTECH VC while advising the fresh students urged them to give their academic work topmost priority.

The matriculating students swore an oath of allegiance, promising to be of acceptable conduct throughout their stay in the university.

The university's Vice-chancellor Professor Adeniyi Sulaimon Gbadegesin, during his address, reiterated LAUTECH's position as the best state university in Nigeria while advising the matriculating students to give their academic work topmost priority.

The VC said, “Your consistent seriousness towards your studies is not negotiable and cannot be compromised.” He added that “the turbulence which the university passed through of recent have strengthened and made her more focused to achieve its mandate.”

Gbadegesin also recognized the best student of the preceding 2015/2016 set, Ezra Oluwatobi, a student from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, who had a perfect Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 5.00.

“Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men,”  Prof. Gbadegesin said while lauding Ezra’s efforts''.

LAUTECH  is the best state-owned university in Nigeria according to Webometric.

Meanwhile, in the 2018 Webometric rating of universitieswhich was released in January, LAUTECH emerged as the best state university in Nigeria as it came 14th in the ranking coming behind 12 Federal Universities and one private university.
