New VC warns lecturers
Kogi State University has warn lecturers against indiscipline
At an interactive session with the workers of the institution on Thursday, he made it known that he would not tolerate acts of truancy, sycophancy, blackmail and other vices that might reflect negatively on the institution.
Abdulkadir, who resumed office in October, said he would be fair and firm in handling any act that could cause any harm to the University.
“I will not tolerate gossips or side talks, selfishness, and manipulations to get undue advantage,” the VC said, "Things must be done transparently with prudent management of scarce resources, challenges must be collectively managed and not thrown at university management.”
Despite these warnings, however, he made sure to let the lecturers know that he considers their welfare top priority.
Not only is he a champion for the lecturers, he also added added that he is looking out for the welfare of the students too. He encouraged the lecturers to see the students of the institution as their own children and “any display of victimisation and arrogance toward students will not be condoned.”
