According to a Daily Trust report, the school which was built to educate itinerant pupils has been taken over by the FCT Universal Basic Education Board (UBEB) since December 2014 and the contractor has issued a completion certificate.

The development has attracted the attention of Procurement monitors from the Public and Private Development Centre (PPDC).

They raised concerns about the school's remaining unopened despite the presence of several almajiri communities in the Gwagwalada axis.

An FCT UBEB representative, Sidi Aliyu, however said the school still faced unresolved challenges, including inaccessible roads and training teachers to teach students in the special schools.

Aliyu added that the board plans to open the school in the next academic year which starts in September.
