The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Musbau Akanji, stated this in Minna on Friday,  when he received members of the Bosso community, led by the Chairman of the Local Government, Alhaji Isah Wakili.

A statement signed by Mrs. Lydia Legbu, the institution’s Public Relation Officer, quoted Akanji as commending the host communities for the cooperation and support since the school was established in 1983.

It further quoted him as declaring that the interest of the host communities was always a priority during admission and recruitment exercises.

Akanji was also quoted as telling his visitors that FUT had drilled many borehole to address the problem of water shortage affecting the communities, while also promising to look into their other requests.

Speaking earlier, Wakili had thanked the school for its cordial relationship with the host communities over the years, and called for closer ties that would benefit the school and the communities.

He urged the management to “remember” the host communities during recruitment and the award of “minor contracts”.

Wakili promised that the community would always provide a conductive atmosphere for the university to function optimally, and sought the institution’s cooperation toward addressing security challenges.
