A student of Covenant University, who has been identified as Segun was confirmed dead due to poor emergency services on campus.

Segun Michael Olorunshola, a 500-level student of Building Technology was swimming at the pool on campus when he is believed to have drowned.

Very few people were at the pool at the time of the incident and there are varying reports over whether he hit his head in the pool or not. What we can be sure of is that on Saturday the 1st, Segun drowned in a pool.

The lifeguard on ground couldn't do much to salvage the situation and he was quickly rushed to the hospital.

This is where things began to get really ugly.

While en route the hospital, Segun's life was slipping away. Even more tragic is that the school's clinic, according to our source, didn't have a defibrillator and oxygen available.

He died.

This incident has led to an uproar on social media, with people complaining about lack of efficiency in the University. In general, people expect more from the university management considering the school fees are one of the most expensive in the country.

Segun was buried on Sunday 3rd of April.
