UNILAG Bans Students From Wearing Earphones

If you are a student of UNILAG, keep your earphones at home because it has been banned and you may lose it.

Students of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) College of Medicine, Idi-Araba, have been banned from using earphones.

In Monday 17th of November circular, signed by UNILAG Dean of Student Affairs, Professor FB Akinsola, students were warned to stop using the accessory as from Monday the 24th of November 2014, or risk losing it.

The ban is however effective only in the College and premises of the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH).

"This is to inform all students that with effect from Monday November 24, the use of earphones on College and LUTH premises will be prohibited," Akinsola said in the statement.

"While students are free to use earphones in the hosted, the College Authority will confiscate any earphone being used by students from the above date".

The announcement may be received with some dissent as earphones are one students’ favorite accessories.
