2 more institutions named in NUC list of illlegal universities
Nigerians have been warned to be careful as they patronize tertiary institutions operating within the country as two more universities make it to the NUC Illegal Universities list.
The new entrants to the list are the Kaduna Bussiness School, Kaduna and the Royal University of Theology, Minna, Niger Delta, while a further eight are still being investigated.
"The National Universities Commission (NUC) wishes to announce to the general public, especially parents and prospective undergraduates, that the under-listed “Degree Mills” have not been licensed by the Federal Government and have, therefore, been closed down for violating the Education (National Minimum Standards etc.) Act CAP E3 Law of the Federation of Nigeria 2004," NUC stated in an announcement published in the (NUC) bulletin report for January 12, 2015.
Members of the public have been warned not to patronize the listed institutions.
"Certificates obtained from these sources will not be recognised for the purposes of NYSC, employment, and further studies," the Commission warned.
