Barely two months after two corp members drowned in a river in Nassarawa state, another corp member has reportedly drowned in Akwa-Ibom state.

The corper identified as Collins Ohaegbu from Imo state drowned while swimming in Okat river around his place of primary assignment on Friday, December 1. 

His body was recovered on Saturday and according to reports has been deposited at a mortuary in the state.

Babatunde and Salihu drowned in Nassarawa.

Recall that two corp members, Oguntola Babatunde and Danjuma Salihu serving in Nassarawa state reportedly drowned in Assakio river in the state in October.

The Coordinator of the National Youths Service Corp, NYSC in the state, Hajiya Zainab Isah confirmed the death of the corp members to newsmen on Monday, October 9.

Isah said the two corp members had gone to the river on Sunday evening to swim but drowned and their bodies had since been deposited at the Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital in Lafia.

Oguntola Babatunde with state code NS16B4044 is reportedly from Ogun state while Jamil-Salihu NS16B0175 hailed from Kwara state.

However, the Akwa Ibom state NYSC has not reacted or issued a statement on the death of the corp member.
