Oshiomole hails Agbebaku for bringing ‘peace, stability’ to AAU
AAU Vice Chancellor, Prof. Cordellia Agbebaku, has been commended by the Edo state Governor, Adams Oshiomole, for succeeding in restoring peace to the institution, "a man could not," through her courage, prudence and fearlessness.
Speaking at the institution's recent 19th convocation ceremony, Oshiomole credited Agbebaku for the stability in the state owned institution, adding that she achieved this through her courage, prudence and fearlessness.
"Before she took over as the vice-chancellor, it was either one problem of students' riot to staff protests, but she has demonstrated uncommon courage, fearlessness, prudence and accountability in managing the university's fund and brought in so much peace and stability," Oshiomole said.
Comparing her performance to her predecessors', the governor lauded Agbebaku for succeeding where men failed.
"She has defended the academic calendar of the university and has demonstrated that even where a man could not managed peacefully, a woman could do so."
In her speech, Agbebaku thanked Oshiomhole for confirming her appointment as a substantive vice-chancellor of the institution.
