When private universities are mentioned in Nigeria, we tend to remember those that are established and owned by religious institutions first.

This could be because some faith-based universities are popular for their expensive school fees and are sometimes in the news because of their rules.

Nevertheless, there are other private tertiary institutions in the country and for those admission seekers, who wish to attend private universities that are not run by religious institutions, here are 10 of the educational institutions you can consider for your university education.

Christopher University was approved by the Federal Government in February 2015. The University is located on a spacious land area of over 100 hectares and situated in Mowe, Lagos / Ibadan express way. The proprietorship of the university belongs to Translucent Management Services.

In fact, ABUAD management does not allow its students to wear religious dresses because they believe such dresses can breed discrimination.

The school is situated in Yola and it is believed to be one of the very expensive universities in the country. The university is reportedly owned by the former Vice-President of Nigeria, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
