Priest confesses to being gay, after being sacked

He explained that the post was meant to support the message against racism and not same-sex marriage.

Priest confesses to be gay, after being sacked.

“I have to be myself.I can’t worry what other people think.” These were the words of Rev. Warren Hall, a priest who claims he was fired, because he supported NOH8, during an interview with Huffington Post.

NOH8 means-no hate, a campaign that is a fallout of the banning of same-sex marriage in the United states.

According to Rev. Hall, he got into trouble when he posted a picture of himself on Facebook, with the NOH8 logo on his cheek.

Rev. Hall, who is the chaplain of Seton Hall University, said 'The best way to live is to live honestly. Honesty with oneself is the most important thing, but you have to be honest with other people.' Adding that he was not afraid.

Meanwhile, the Archdiocese of Newark has refuted Rev. Hall’s claims, through its spokesman, James Goodness, saying:  'The church doesn’t fire priests for tolerance; it condemns those who are intolerant.'
