Arunga’s husband, Quincy Timberlake, a politician who hoped to contest the forthcoming presidential elections in Kenya has now been charged with killing his own son.

According to reports, the court was informed that Timberlake was only trying rid his son of ‘aliens and demons, before he was found dead by paramedics.

The allegations were made during Arunga’s bail hearing in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Friday, after she was charged with being an accessory to murder. Reports say, her lawyers won the bail hearing.

It was gathered that Quincy and Esther Timberlake had told the police the 3-year-old boy had fallen down the stairs while playing with a sibling and was dead before paramedics arrived at the family house on June 18, 2014.

But their stories didn’t add up as Esther kept changing her version of the story and according to the police finally opened up, saying she believed her husband was mentally ill.

Mr. Timberlake voluntarily admitted himself to Brisbane’s Prince Charles Mental Health hospital on July 3. A week later, he was made an involuntary patient. Four days later, Mrs. Timberlake told officers her husband was pushing on the boy’s stomach repeatedly because he believed he had been possessed by aliens and demons.

According to police documents submitted to the court, she said her husband

The boy was then allegedly thrown against a wall before he was showered, dressed, and left on his bed.

It was gathered that postmortem results showed Sinclair’s initial examination were not consistent with a fall down the stairs. He had suffered internal injuries, as well as bruising to his arms and torso. He also had a number of other injuries, but his mother maintained that those injuries were the result of traditional Kenyan healing techniques prior to June 18.

Meanwhile, Mr. Timberlake’s lawyers have categorically stated that their client was a “loving father” and that the boy’s death was “tragic”. They have cautioned that that case is still being investigated and it would be unwise to draw any hasty conclusions.
