C&S Pastor Arrested For Raping Woman In Church

A 37-year-old pastor of the Eternal Sacred Order of Cherubim and Seraphim has been arrested for the alleged rape of a woman during a prayer session.

Segun Alawode who pastors the Sabo branch of C&S in Odogbolu Local Government Area was arrested by the Ogun state police command after he was accused of raping a 32-year-old woman inside the church.

According to the victim whose identity has not yet been given by the police, pastor Alawode was in a prayer session with her when he asked her to hold some candle sticks then pulled off her wrapper before raping her.

The victim’s family, according to the command’s spokesman, Muyiwa Adejobi, reported the incident to the police and the pastor was arrested.

He said, “Medical reports so far received on the matter confirmed that the pastor actually committed the offence and he has since confessed to the crime. The accused will soon be charged to court.

“The matter is presently at the anti- Human Trafficking and Child Labour unit of the Department of Criminal Investigation in Abeokuta”.
