Kwara Muslim board to return N6.3m to pilgrims

This sum was what was left from the feeding allowance for the pilgrims in the Holy land, which has been refunded by the Saudi Arabian Government.

Hajj pilgrims to get N6.3m

The Kwara Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has promised to refund the sum of N6.3 million to 4, 399 pilgrims from the state who performed the Hajj in 2012 and 2013 in Saudi Arabia.

Hajia Fatimah Abolore-Jimoh, Executive Secretary of the board,  disclosed that the this sum was what was left from the feeding allowance for the pilgrims in the Holy land, which has been refunded by the Saudi Arabian Government.

Abolore-Jimoh also added that each affected pilgrim will collect N1, 200 and the board will begin commencement of payment on Wednesday.

She directed the affected pilgrims to make themselves present before the board from Wednesday, Dec. 9, with their original travelling documents and photocopies of their passport data page, to collect the money.

She also warns that the payment would only be made to the recipient and will not be done by proxy. The timeline for the payment will only be for a week.

She added that the board had yet to receive any refund for pilgrims who performed the Hajj in 2014 and 2015.
