The head of the Nasrul-Lahi-L-Fathi (NASFAT) Society in Nigeria, has condemned the act of terrorism all over the world while maintaining that terrorists are not Muslims.
"Terrorists are not Muslims" - NASFAT president
NASFAT is a peace-seeking Muslim organisation in the world. Its objective is to have a society whose members are enlightened and united.
Kamil Bolarinwa, has said that attributing terrorism to Islam is wrong because a clear understanding of Islamic religion separates it from the disorderliness of terrorism.
He said, “Islam truly means peace; it preaches peace and anyone who understands Islam will make peace at all time. This peace must reflect within us, our society, neighbourhood, the country and the world at large.”
Bolarinwa said this at the 3rd Biennial NASFAT General Conference, which took place at YABA College of Technology Auditorium in Lagos.
He further stated, “NASFAT is a peace-seeking Muslim organisation in the world. Its objective is to have a society whose members are enlightened and united. This is why the religion, as a whole, rejects the current label of terrorism and its adherents.
“We reject activities of mischief makers who deliberately refuse to understand and distort what Islam truly stands for.”
He advised that everyone should see “Islam as a noble religion which does not tolerate discrimination in any form.”
“Islam abhors discrimination in any form; do not allow the actions of misguided elements and detractors, or their discordant voices to affect your perception of the true adherents of Islam,” he said.
