Pastor Daniel Lanre Akintola, a man of God serving with the Gospel Faith Mission International, was nabbed at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu where he was allegedly trying to smuggle heroin to South Africa.
Mr Nsikak-Abasi Udoh, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency commander at the airport, told the News Agency of Nigeria that “Mr Daniel Lanre Akintola unlawfully possessed 1.978kg of heroin while returning from Entebbe, a major town in Central Uganda. He wanted to abandon the luggage but we detected his intention.”
