Popular Nigerian pastors offer important advice to leaders

Politicians and church leaders alike have received great advice from these two pastors.

According to the General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), the current administration needs to focus on dealing with the increasing rate of unemployment in Nigeria.

Daily Post reports that he offered this advice at a thanksgiving and prayer programme organized by the Throne of Grace Chapel at the Church’s headquarters in Lagos State.

Pastor Adeboye advised the government to find a solution to this problem as it affects the future leaders.

In his words, “Government at all levels should focus on creating jobs and other social investment programmes that would help in ameliorating the suffering of the people.

“Our children are graduating without any hope of employment. This is a sad tale and in 2018, the government must galvanize all relevant stakeholders to get our children employed.

“We will be creating a lot of social problems and insecurity if we fold our hands and refuse to act.”

The General Superintendent of the Deeper Life Bible Church, Pastor William Kumuyi, has also offered some advice.

Unlike Pastor Adeboye’s advice, Kumuyi’s advice is directed at church leaders. The Nation reports that he is urging these leaders not to lose sight of the important thing which is evangelism.

According to the Deeper Life G.O, this is still the great commission that the church needs to continue to hold on.

Kumuyi also encouraged them to seize the opportunities presented on the streets, hospitals, motor parks, bus stops, inside the bus or taxi, prisons and so on.

In his words, “We cannot remain idle or indifference to the acts of winning souls for Christ. It is one thing that should matter to us as believers as the end of the world is near.

“Believers must, therefore, throw aside all flimsy excuses as there is no trouble too great, no humiliation too deep, no suffering too severe, no labor too hard, and no expense too much in saving souls. We must arise, therefore, pray and do the work.”

The cleric shared this advice at the recently-concluded National Leadership Strategy Congress organized by the church at the Deeper Life Conference Centre, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Ogun State.
