Muslims donate bibles, praying mats to churches in Kaduna

The spokesperson said both religions preach, peace, harmony, forgiveness and tolerance, pointing out that all come from one family of Adam and Eve and the need to understand one another.

Muslim women have reportedly donated bibles written in Hausa to Christian clerics in Kaduna with the aim of building religious tolerance in the state.

This gesture is in celebration of the International Interfaith Harmony Week.

The Muslim group also reportedly donated praying mats, plastic kettles while also attending a Sunday Church service with Christian fellows at Christ Evengelical Intercessary Fellowship Ministry, Sabon Tasha, Kaduna-South this Sunday, January 31.

Spokesperson for the group, Hajiya Ramatu Tijjani is of the opinion that objective of the World Interfaith Harmony day was to donate gifts to other religions and improving relationship and unity among faiths.

“I attended the Church service and give my own donation like every christian just to encourage religious understanding and tolerance between Christians and Moslems for peaceful coexistence in the country and the world at large,” Tijjani said.

Hajiya Ramatu said both religions preach, peace, harmony, forgiveness and tolerance, pointing out that all come from one family of Adam and Eve and the need to understand one another.

Receiving the Bibles, the general overseer of the Church, Pastor Yohanna Buru expressed satisfaction with the donation and appealed to Christians and Moslems to learn how to tolerate, accommodate and live in peace with one another in order to make the country great and peaceful.
