They named their babies after the pope who was in the country yesterday.
Babies born yesterday at Kenyan Hospitals have been named after the Pope.
Hospitals across the country recorded over 30 newborns after Shepherd One touched down at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. The mothers decided to honour the Pope's visit by giving their new babies different variations of the Pontiff's name.
Immaculate Katiechi named her baby boy Pope Devin, while Linda Tanui named hers Francis. A mother named her Fransisco Mario while another, Mercy Wambua, named her new baby boy, Pope Wambua. Betty Murende named her baby girl Francisca. A 19-year-old mother, Grace Muthoni also named her boy Francis Waweru in honour of the visiting Pope.
These women all attributed the well-being of themselves and their babies to Pope Francis' visit.
