Governor Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia state) and Governor Rochas Okorocha (Imo) reportedly sent goodwill messages to the muslim community on Eid el-Kabir.

In Abia State Governor's message which was signed by his Chief press secretary, Ikpeazu described Islam as a great world religion that upholds the spirit of love, peace and charity.
He also commended the Abia Muslim community for supporting his administration and for being good patriots of the state.
Ending his note, he urged Muslims to expand the spiritual benefits of sallah by ensuring a world of peaceful co-existence devoid of violence.
“They must use the occasion of the Sallah to demonstrate that the world is united by one common humanity,” he said.
In Imo State, Governor Okorocha urged ‘Muslims and every patriotic Nigerian’ to pray fervently for those things that would promote unity of the country, and against things that threaten the existence of Nigeria.
In a statement signed by Mr. Sam Onwuemeodo, his secretary, the governor noted that Muslims had the opportunity of praying for the leadership of the nation, asking God to grant them all that they require to work for the progress of the citizenry.
