Modenine, original name Segun Babatunde is no stranger in the Nigerian hip hop scene. The legendary rapper and hip hop star features on this podcast episode.

His verse ability and microphone prowess are well known, he’s the most decorated artist in the history of The Headies and he has a back catalogue of singles that still get people jumping all around Africa.

Amazing rhyme, flow and delivery, Modenine is a god on the mike. In this interview, his lyrical mastery is evident as he deftly weaves words in his answers, almost as if he is rapping.

On this episode, Modenine discusses his career, what’s wrong with the world today and how despite what others say he’s not retiring anytime soon.

He reminisces about the good old days when music was less commercial. He says, "back in the day, everybody was concentrating on doing good music".

According to the rapper, everyone these days is more focused on making hits than they are on making good music.
