The perfect social media platform for celebs

Snapchat is the buzzing social media app right now. Find out why it is perfect for celebrities.

Snapchat

As you know celebrities have jumped on it (shout out to DJ Khaled). While snapchat is the new cool it also happens to be the perfect social media app for celebrities so far. Why? Let’s break it down for you.

Firstly snapchat allows celebs to have a direct and intimate and access to their fans. The app is a social diary where fans can see what their favourite celebs have been up to within the last 24 hours. It is very selfie friendly which creates that intimate feel that Twitter and Instagram can’t really create. It’s like you are in a celebrity’s life by watching his or her snaps. All you have to do is follow and get direct access.

Apart from direct access, snapchat cuts away online bullying and trolling. Celebs are fed up of with the hate comments and trolling they get on Instagram and Twitter daily. Snapchat eliminates all that. There is no room for hurtful comments and annoying statements. There is even no room to comment. You can only send messages to a celeb if he or she follows you back.

With celebs losing their minds and ranting at trolls Snapchat is the best haven for popular people to share content without negative feedback.

What gives Snapchat an edge over all social media plans is that the content is not permanent. After 24 hours the snap- a picture or video- disappears. The owner of the snap has the option to save the snap but where is the fun in that.

This feature is really good because it allows celebrities to be spontaneous without worrying about something they posted that could potentially come back to haunt them. Snapchat embodies the carefree spirit and abandonment of millennials.

Hip-Hop artiste DJ Khaled has helped push Snapchat to the very mainstream of America with his entertaining and hilarious snaps. Thanks to his Snapchat success and his 6 millions followers he will now be going on tour with Beyonce.

Snapchat is so popping right now that even the Kardashians have jumped on it. On Tuesday, April 19, 2016 Khloe Kardashian joined Snapchat and introduced Lamar Odom to the app also.

Several Nigerian celebrities are on it too such as Banky W, M.I, Kemi Adetiba, Genevieve Nnaji and others.
