Robin Williams' cause of death was asphyxia due to hanging, according to the Marin County Sheriff's Office Coroner Division.

According to the site, Williams, who committed suicide on August 11, had placed several watches in a sock and given them to an unnamed recipient because he was worried about their safe keeping.

In the new documents, his wife Susan Schneider confessed to the authorities that the actor wasn't into erotic asphyxiation. However, she did mention that Williams had worked on a movie (World's Greatest Dad) where his character's son died from erotic asphyxiation and the scene was "very difficult and emotional for Mr. Williams."

The Oscar winner's autopsy report also lists that he had four drugs in his system - two antidepressants and two caffeine compounds.

However, the coroner's report concludes Williams was sober at the time of his death.

Williams took his own life at the age of 63 in his home in Marin County, California, by hanging himself with a belt. According to the documents, Williams also attempted to cut his wrists with a pocket knife.
