Singer rejects Enoch Adeboye's submission on wives who can't cook

Concerning what she thinks of the comments made by the clergyman, the singer observed that everyone is entitled to an opinion which should not necessarily determine how others live.

Adeboye, during the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) convention held in August 2016, advised men not to marry a woman without an ability to prepare good meals.

R&B singer, Banky W, refused to join the bandwagon of people who share in the clergy's position when he stated in an interview on Ebony TV that he does not mind cooking for his wife.

Rae, in an interview published by Punch News'Sunday Scoop on August 14, 2016, has taken a similar angle to that of Banky's when she stated that cooking for a man is not compulsory.

It should be done only if there is an opportunity to do so.

“Yes, I was brought up in a home where my mum cooked for my dad every single day, but she was a housewife."

"My thought is if you have the time, it is okay to cook for your husband, but in a situation where you are a career woman and don’t have the time to cook, there are ways you can go about it."

"You can hire someone to do the cooking for you or cook in bulk on weekends and store in the freezer”, she said.

Concerning her opinion about Adeboye's comments, the singer observed that everyone is entitled to an opinion which should not necessarily determine how others live.

“I think it is his opinion and he is entitled to his opinion and if that’s what he feels like the Lord is telling him, then that’s his own message but if there are other people who feel they don’t want their wives to do that and want their wives to support them and that’s what they feel it is their story, then that should happen. I feel that’s his opinion.”

Lola Rae has had a steady and gradual growth to stardom.

In November 2012, the singer released her debut single titled 'Watch my ting go' and then a follow-up song titled 'High' which brought her prominence.

She has featured on songs with many established musicians such as Congolese singer, Awilo Longomba, Sarkodie, Mi Casa, Tiwa Savage and others.
