Diva pregnant at 49

In a Twitter video early Wednesday morning, the singer addressed her fans saying the reason behind her postponed tour is that she and husband are starting a family.

Janet Jackson

In a Twitter video early Wednesday morning, the singer addressed her fans saying,  "Hey, you guys. On August 31, as you probably, know I launched the 'Unbreakable World Tour'. First I just want to thank all the fans for coming out and seeing the show. Thank you so much,"

The 49-year-old continued, "You guys made it so enjoyable each and every night. We're in the second leg of the tour and there actually has been a sudden change. I thought it was important that you would be the first to know my husband and I are planning our family, so I'm going to have to delay the tour. Please, if you can try to understand that it's important that I do this now. I have to rest up, doctor's orders. But I have not forgotten about you. I will continue to tour as soon as I possibly can."

Jackson, who wed Qatari business magnate Wissam Al Mana in 2012, did not reveal the details of her family planning.

In December, Jackson postponed the second North American leg of her tour as she required surgery. All dates were rescheduled except for one in Lexington, Ky., as the concert venue was scheduled to undergo renovations.

After rumors spread that Janet was delaying the tour for health reasons in January, Jackson took to Twitter to address erroneous reports: "Remember...believe it when you hear it from my lips. The rumors are untrue. I do not have cancer. I'm recovering. My doctors have approved my concert as scheduled in Europe, and as I promised, the postponed shows will be rescheduled. Thank you for your prayers and love."

In March, however, the European leg of the tour was postponed. Well, now we know why!
