According to him, Ibinabo was driving Daniel Wilson's car, a popular musician in the 90's when she had the accident.
Wilson was called by movie director and critic, Charles Novia called Daniel Wison who corroborated that Ibinabo drove his SUV that night in question.
He said, "She’s my sister. We are from the same state and local government. It was the week of my mother’s burial and Ibinabo had come from Port-Harcourt to help me with the burial. She was wonderful and really supportive. That day, she needed the car to get to somewhere on the island and I asked her to pick any from the pool of cars in my compound. I was surprised when I got a call a couple of hours later that there was an accident. I rushed to the hospital, St Nicholas, and she was unconscious."
Ibinabo was sentenced to five years in prison by a Lagos High Court for reckless driving which resulted in the death of a staff, Giwa Suraj of a Lagos state hospital in 2006 and has dominated the headlines this past week following the dismissal of her appeal against the sentence.
The witness who goes by the name, De Gaulle claims to have been present at the scene of the accident and also narrated how Ibinabo wasn’t responsible for the doctor’s death.
