Arubayi died on Saturday February 11, 2017, after suffering complications from the consumption of an expired anti-malaria drug.

An internment and praise and worship session will be held in Delta state where he would also be buried.

Arubayi, who was a runner-up of the first season of Idols West Africa passed away at the Delta State Teaching Hospital.
He is survived by his wife, Chinonso and a son who is the only fruit of their three years marriage.
