Auto company loses engineer director to Uber over autonomous driving
Uber is poaching top executives from Ford Motors, other auto companies to build it's self driving car.
"Over one million people die in car accidents every year — in the US it's the most common cause of death amongst young people. Self-driving technology can help prevent these tragedies as well as improve the quality of life in cities. It's one of the many reasons I am so excited to join Uber's team in Pittsburgh," his statement read.
Markaby leaves to work with Brian McClendon, the vice president of Advanced Technologies.
"Self-driving technology is a hard challenge to solve with enormous potential to improve people's lives. Sherif is a world expert and we're excited to have him join the team," the VP said.
McClendon was also poached, he was gotten from Google's Maps division.
All of this prove that Uber is building a self-driving car.
